Fans waiting to see Travis Scot perform at Lollapalooza last night in Chicago were left disappointed as he was arrested after just 5-10 mins into his set.
Trouble began when Travis started chanting and encouraging fans to rush past security and barricades so they can jump on to the stage, reports ABC7 Chicago. Given the amount of people at the venue, organizers say it could have been a dangerous situation, but security quickly got things under control and stopped the rapper 5 minutes into his performance. A couple of videos from users on Twitter show the chaos at that moment (watch below). The Office of Emergency Management issued a statement saying:
“The performer played one song and then began telling fans to come over the barricades. Due to the security’s quick response, the situation was remedied immediately and no fans were injured. The performer fled the scene and was taken into custody a short while later “
Travis was soon arrested and charged for disorderly conduct. I wish some of these rappers started acting more civilized. Stay tuned for updates.
