Frank Ocean was gone for years but when he came back, he made sure he gave his fans plenty of material to enjoy.
After the Endless film featuring new music, the singer dropped a proper full length album Blonde this past weekend exclusively on Apple Music. The album boasts of contributions from top artists such as Kanye West, Beyonce, Pharrell, Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar and more.
Billboard reports that according to early estimates, the album is projected to sell around 225k-250k copies in the first week which will mean a number 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The chart is based on numbers from multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
In comparison, Frank’s debut album Channel ORANGE had debuted on #2 on the chart in July, 2012, behind Zac Brown Band’s album Uncaged.
UPDATE: According to HDD, Blonde is expected to move 265-290k copies in the first week including streams. Tory Lanez, on the other hand, is looking at 54-59k for his debut album I Told You.
