UPDATE: The final numbers are in. Migos did 40,068 pure sales and 120,991 with streams!
Previous story:
Migos have been the talk of the town for the past few weeks, thanks to their smash hit ‘Bad & Boujee’ which continues its run on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
They released their proper sophomore studio album CULTURE this past Friday to a solid response from fans. According to HDD, the album is projected to move 70-80k copies in the first week with approximately 30k of that being pure sales. It will be fighting for the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week with Country singer Brantley Gilbert whose new album The Devil Don’t Sleep is also expected to do similar numbers.
This number is a big improvement from the Atlanta trio’s last outing Yung Rich Nation which only sold 14.5k copies in its opening week and landing on the #17 spot. Have you already heard CULTURE? Let us know your favorite tracks off it.
If you missed it last night, watch their “Culture class” at the New York University here.
UPDATE: The sales projections have now increased to 108-113k copies, giving the trio a clear lead for the number 1 spot.
