It’s been almost one year since the passing of A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg. The rapper died on March 22, 2016 in California due to complications relating to diabetes.
Following Tribe’s incredible politically charged performance honoring Phife at the GRAMMYs this past Sunday, a new posthumous song from the rapper has been released — the smooth ‘Wanna Dance’ featuring his frequent collaborator Dwele.
There are actually two versions of the song that have been released where Phife and the soul singer trade the lead roles. It will appear on Phife’s forthcoming posthumous album Forever as well as Dwele’s LP Same Book…New Chapter, each expected to arrive in stores later this year. Stream it below.
