Well, KRS-One has landed another controversy. Fans did not appreciate his defense of Afrika Bambaataa in light of molestation accusations against the Zulu Nation founder and now, he has put himself in an awkward position courtesy of his latest song ‘Hip Hop Speaks From Heaven’.
The song, which appears on his latest album The World is Mind, pays tribute to some of the fallen soldiers in Hip-Hop. When it comes to around 3:10 mark, KRS names Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock instead of the group’s late member MCA, who passed away from cancer in 2012. Ad-Rock is of course, alive and doing absolutely fine.
KRS caught the news making headlines and has now issued an apology to Ad-Rock, Beatie Boys and the fans. “Historical accuracy is important to me so I accept all responsibility for this error,” wrote the legendary rapper. He also promised to re-do the song and replace the original version with a new one.
