The talk of a joint project between Chilidish Gambino and Chance The Rapper is not new. It started when Chance crashed the former’s set at Governors Ball in 2014 followed by Gambino hinting that they have an EP in the works.
Then back in January, Chance gave fresh fuel to the rumblings with an Instagram image with Donald Glover, writing “Hawaii then LA, back to work. #roscoeswetsuit.” Back in July, Chance again confirmed during an Instagram live session that he does have music recorded with his friend: “Me and Donald have more songs together.”
Tonight at the 69th annual Emmy Awards, Childish Gambino was a big winner, grabbing the award for Best Director for a Comedy Series, for his critically-acclaimed FX television series Atlanta. With this, he became the first black person to win an award in that category. Later in the night, the rapper-actor also won an Emmy for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy.
Donald obviously was very thankful for the award but he didn’t leave before making a very important announcement — the joint project between him and Chance The Rapper was certainly on the way. Watch the video below.
