Post Malone has always been a controversial artist right from the start and his recent comments about the Hip-Hop genre have not helped that fact.
In a new interview he did while on tour in Poland, Post told media outlet NewOnce that fans looking for “real sh*t” should be listening to genres other than Hip-Hop. “If you’re looking for lyrics, if you’re looking to cry, if you’re looking to think about life, don’t listen to hip-hop,” Post said in the video interview. “There’s great hip-hop songs where they talk about life and they spit that real sh*t, but right now, there’s not a lot of people talking about real sh*t. Whenever I want to cry, whenever I want to sit down and have a nice cry, I’ll listen to some Bob Dylan,” continued the ‘Rockstar’ hitmaker.
Post ended up receiving a lot of flak with his comments and looks like he has caught wind of them online. A few minutes ago, the singer-rapper took to Twitter to address the comments, saying that it was taken out of context and he truly loves the genre. He wants to take it to far that even people who don’t listen to Hip-Hop will be able to appreciate it, he says. Watch his message below. Posty released the official video for his number hit ‘Rockstar’ featuring 21 Savage earlier this week.
