Ten years ago today (December 11), The-Dream released his debut album Love Hate which featured the hits ‘Shawty Is Da Sh*t’ and ‘I Luv Your Girl’. More than the hits, it was the sound of the album and the songwriting on it that really set the tone for R&B’s future for years to come.
The album also helped transition The-Dream from a hit songwriter to a successful singer who not only served solo smashes but also provided catchy choruses for other rappers and singers. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album, Terius “The-Dream” Nash has dropped a new song today titled ‘It’s Yo Birthday’ which again proves why he’s such a special artist.
The-Dream has been quiet since the release of his ‘Summer Body’ single featuring Fabolous. Hopefully the new album will arrive early next year.
