Before Justin Timberlake releases his new album Man of The Woods on February 2nd, he sits down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 for an extensive interview.
We have already seen two clips already of the singer talking about why he didn’t work with Pharrell after the debut album Justified and how he managed to get a Super Bowl gig after the Janet Jackson fiasco.
The full interview is here now. JT talks about the phase of his family life which led to Man of the Woods, the two years of conversations with Pharrell that led to the sound on the album, how his son inspires him, how the title of the album came about (meaning of his son’s name “Silas”), his wife Jessica Biel’s contribution to the LP, wanting more kids, preparing for his upcoming tour, conversations with Prince, what he’s listening to right now (Travis Scott), the inspiration behind the new single ‘Supplies‘ and more. Watch it below.
UPDATE: Beats 1 has released part 2 of the interview. In this portion, the singer mainly breaks down inspiration and making of stories behind various songs on the album.
