Looks like J. Cole is on course to do big numbers in the first week with his latest album KOD.
The rapper has already broken Spotify’s record for the biggest opening day for a song (the title track) and now he’s at it again, this time with the album. Jermaine has managed to also break the streaming platform’s record for the most first day streams for an album in the U.S. “36,656,086 streams. 0 guest features,” Spotify sent out a tweet congratulating J. Cole.

Spotify isn’t the only service he’s doing well at. Apart from this, KOD has also broken Apple Music’s record for most streams in the first 24 hours in the U.S. with 64.5 million streams, Apple told The Verge. Cole’s fifth album surpassed the previous record holder, Drake’s Views, by about 1 million streams. On top of that, seven out of the top 10 most streamed songs in a 24-hour period on Apple Music are currently from KOD.
