Rapper XXXTentacion’s death is being mourned by the music industry. He was shot by unnamed gunmen outside RIVA Motorsports store in Deerfield Beach, Florida around 4 pm on Monday. XXX was taken to hospital after the incident but pronounced dead shortly after.
Earlier today (Tuesday), the rapper’s rep released a statement on his death: “XXXTentacion touched the lives of millions around the globe and will forever reside in the hearts of countless fans who listened to his music, attended his concerts, and felt the glow of his uncontainable, undeniable, and unique spirit. News about memorial services to be issued forthcoming. Family and friends have asked for privacy while they grieve. “In deference to his family, friends, and loved ones and in light of further investigation, we ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

XXXTentacion’s lawyer, David Bogenschutz, said detectives believe he was shot in a random robbery while likely planning to buy a motorcycle. He said investigators also told him the slain rapper visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash for the purchase, which could be the motive behind the robbery.
There have some theories going around on the internet related to the controversial rapper’s death. South Florida rappers, Soldier Kidd and Soldier Jojo were accused by fans on social media of being involved in X’s murder. According to the dispatch call, XXXTentacion’s shooter allegedly wore a red mask during the shooting and fans noticed an Instagram post from Soldier Kidd showing him and Soldier Jojo in a car posing with a red mask, which was taken the day of the shooting. But both rappers have denied that they had anything to do with the incident.
