Meek Mill has been teasing new music titled ‘Stay Woke’ on his social media for past couple of days. Some fans thought it’s the title of his new album but a new song was definitely a safer bet.
Meek let all speculation come to an end as he took the stage at the 2018 BET Awards tonight to debut his new single with some help from Miguel. Meek wore a hoodie featuring the face of XXXTentacion, the 20 year old rapper who was murdered in Deerfield Beach, Florida on Monday, June 18th. The powerful performance addressed mass incarceration and gun violence.
So happy & proud of my brother @MeekMill …..Great performance…Great message…STAND UP PHILADELPHIA!!!!!

The stage setup featured number of people reenacting different acts of gun violence and the infamous endless cycle of prison in the criminal justice system. Meek has been campaigning against the unjust systems in place in the country, especially the discrimination against colored people. Watch a clip of his performance below. The single is now out in its studio version.
