Murda Beatz has been one of the most successful producers of the last couple of years with the biggest hit coming through Drake (‘Nice For What’) earlier in 2018.
In a new profile with NY Times, the Canadian hitmaker from Niagara Falls says that he recently sent some new stuff to his good friend Drizzy. He didn’t divulge any more details but it’s a hint that Drake could be seriously working on new music again. The two have had great chemistry together, putting out other hits such as ‘Portland’ (on More Life), ‘With You’ (on Views), and more.
Murda also talked a little bit about being an artist himself, having signed to Interscope Records last year. “People get content — they buy their house, their cars, their grills, and they get comfortable,” Murda acknowledged. “But I’m not here to be hot for a year.” He also added that him being an outsider in Rap has worked in his favor till now. “People aren’t expecting me to look how I do,” he said recently. “But that’s one of the main reasons it works so well: the surprise factor.”
