Ja Rule Calls Out ESPN for Clowning Him on Social Media

Last year during a Timberwolves-Bucks game, Ja Rule caught a lot of flak for a video that surfaced online. He was the half time performer but the experience didn’t go smooth for him.

Videos posted on social media showed Ja trying to hype up the crowd with “are we ready?” which didn’t attract any response. He then repeated and after still not getting any reaction from the audience, he said, “I guess not,” before his music eventually started. Another video showed Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo taking warm-up shots while Ja Rule was still performing.

Today, ESPN revisited the video on their Twitter account with the caption “Never forget this Ja Rule moment” followed by a laughter emoji. See the tweet below.

The New York rapper came to know about the tweet and called out ESPN for clowning him, even demanding that the person handling their account be fired. “I usually mind my business and ignore the white noise but I think it’s very unprofessional of @espn to try and diminish or discredit who and what I am to this culture… whoever post for your social accounts @espn needs to be FIRED…” he wrote.

“Be more professional @espn and tell your little social team to have some RESPECT we speaking on an ICONN…” with the “ICONN” term referring to a new tech platform that he’s been building for artists. See his reaction below.

So let me get this straight @espn your letting your social team that represents your brand and social accounts with over 16 million follows try and clown me over what was clearly a technical issue with the equipment and for what likes??? @espn clout chasing now lmao… #ICONN
