Salaam Remi has been teasing the release of a new album Black on Purpose for the past couple of weeks.
Today, the producer extraordinaire has shared the new set which features 17 songs, aiming to take you through a range of emotions to reflect the complicated times that we have experienced in 2020. The album has plenty of guest appearances from a lot of usual suspects as well as some new names. Nas, Jennifer Hudson, Common, Bilal, Busta Rhymes, Chronixx, Case, Teedra Moses, Spragga Benz, MuMu Fresh, Doug E Fresh, Black Thought, Mack Wilds, Stephen Marley, Cee-Lo Green, Anthony Hamilton and more assist with the vocals.
“We couldn’t gather in the way we were used to when we needed each other most, Salaam explains about the album. “Now we are more than likely going to be in for another round of quarantine and we will need each other and music more than ever. We were black before the election and we will be black after the election,” he continues. Stream it below.
