Welcome to the relaunch of Saturday Spotlight!
We came back with this fan-favorite platform to a superb response last week. The amount of talent in the world is completely mind-blowing, and it’s a complete honor knowing our platform is their preferred outlet. So artists, soon-to-be-stars, producers, and all hip-hop maestros alike… pull up and keep them coming.
We received nearly 90 submissions this week, and as much as we would love to include all this sensational pool of talent — we have to limit our picks to only two artists. Today, we give you the two who completely stopped us in our tracks, gleaming with potential to potentially push the game to new, and exciting realms of possibility.
King P
First up on the plate is King P, an artist hailing from Silver Spring, Maryland with enough intensity in his raps to captivate and immerse listeners. The Ugandan-descent artist represents a collective named, 3rd World, filled with other first-generation Americans, foreigners, immigrants, and overall creatives from places where chances to make out are slim.
King P wants to tell you, and the rest of the world his story with hopes of reaching as many ears as possible. Check out his standout track and video ‘RELENTLESS’ on YouTube below:
David Tropp
Next up we have David Tropp, an upcoming hip-hop artist as well as a producer whose music is as ambient as it is infectious, filled with glowing contagious vocals. David’s music is the perfect example of a DIY artist that’s utilizing the COVID-19 pandemic to his advantage. Check out his track, ‘Order In’ below.

Through our artist discovery platform Saturday Spotlight, we have discovered some amazing talent in the past including Russ, Ty Dolla Sign, Mez, IDK, Victoria Monét and Trap Beckham to name just a few. In most cases, coverage on HHNM was their first look among media outlets. Find the submission guidelines here.
