Welcome back to yet another edition of Saturday Spotlight. Starting 2021, we’ve already had a slew of events hit our timelines that had our world upside down. It’s been an eventful first week for the world in terms of news, but thank god we have music — the perfect escape and getaway for when the world becomes too fearsome.
Coming off the tail of 2020, we have learned that the world can be unforgiving, and we’ve learned that anything in life shouldn’t be taken for granted. That’s what makes every Saturday so important for HHNM; sifting through submission after submission, listening to people pour their hearts into their artistry. We realize the amount of sheer dedication and sacrifice it took to even get to this point, every opportunity matters. For our love of music, we want to help see dreams become realized. Let’s introduce our winners for the week:
Casscade
London-rapper Casscade is in complete control once he hits the mic. On his single, “Crazy Scenes” featuring Raj Forever, Casscade sounds like the embodiment of a nightclub outing where you may never know who you’ll run into — friend or foe. Over the string-ridden Drill production, Raj provides a hook that could be traded out with Travis Scott, and you’ll never know the difference. He compliments the dynamic explosiveness that comes with Casscade’s verses. Check out his song, “Crazy Scenes” below:
Fundi Wake
Living in the high life may not last for some, but for the Copenhagen-based rapper Fundi Wake, there’s no going down. On his track, “Impeccable”, Fundi is top of his game. Over a Tay Keith bass-thumping inspired beat, Fundi glides over the drums for roughly 2 minutes. Weed, his crew, and women — the day in the life of Fundi Wake has the pungent scent of success. Behind the braggadocio sported, Fundi’s pen is sharp and his ability shines through his delivery. Check out his single, “Impeccable” below:

Through our artist discovery platform Saturday Spotlight, we have discovered some amazing talent in the past including Russ, Ty Dolla Sign, Mez, IDK, Victoria Monét and Trap Beckham to name just a few. In most cases, coverage on HHNM was their first look among media outlets. Find the submission guidelines here.
