will.i.am has released a new song called ‘American Dream’ to raise funds for children who cannot afford proper education.
Black Eyed Peas frontman’s i.am Angel Foundation already funds STEM education programs and robotics clubs for some 1,200 students in grades K-12. But he’s now asking for everyone’s help to take his program even wider for more kids. The new track and video puts focus on the fact that education is a social justice issue where only some fortunate kids are able to have access to quality education.
The i.am Angel Foundation notes that “2020 showed the world how dire things really are when these basic things are taken away. Some of the best and brightest young minds are being set back by a double whammy – long-standing systemic issues, multiplied by a pandemic that disproportionately hurts communities of color.”
Through the new song and video, Will and his foundation are seeking at least $35 donation to the American Dream Fund so they can reach their goal of $5,000,000 to help more students who will go on to uplift their families, communities and the country. The GoFundMe link can be found here.
