The awaited Boogie film soundtrack is out today. Fans were hoping to hear more Pop Smoke music apart from the already released single ‘AP‘ from last week.
The project featuring 14 songs in total also offers two additional songs from the Brooklyn superstar whose legacy and popularity continues to thrive at a very high level. The first one is an original track titled ‘Fashion’ featuring Chicago rapper Polo G while the other is a remix of UK rapper’s song ‘No Cap‘. You can stream both below.
Boogie is an coming-of-age story about aspiring high school basketball star Alfred “Boogie” Chin (Taylor Takahashi) living in Queens, New York. But among the challenges Boogie faces off-court in order to achieve his dreams of entering the NBA, he faces on-court rivals like Monk, who is played by Pop Smoke. It was filmed prior to Pop’s death in February last year and hits select theaters today (March 5) via Focus Features.
“At first I made this film and I was like, ‘Look, this is for my family and this is to represent for all of us overseas Chinese in America,’ but this is Pop’s film,” director Eddie Huang said in a new interview with Yahoo Entertainment. “It’s absolutely dedicated to Pop. I really miss my brother. Once I met him, the film changed.”
