Yesterday, billboards popped up around Toronto of lyrics from Drake’s upcoming album Certified Lover Boy. A couple of his friends ended up handing out t-shirts in the city with the lyrics on them too. You can check them out here.
As we wrote in the post, Drake doing billboards in Toronto to promote an album was nothing new, but tonight he’s taken it up a level.
Drake has revealed some features on the album by putting up billboards in the featured artists’ cities and teasing them on there. In Chicago, he put up one announcing Lil Durk is on the album, of course being ‘Laugh Now Cry Later‘. In Atlanta, he revealed that Future, 21 Savage, Young Thug and Lil Baby will all be on the album. Cali gets to hear Giveon and Ty Dolla $ign on there. But the one getting the most attention right now is the one in New York.
The New York billboard reads “Hey New York, the GOAT is on CLB“. Although people are speculating about who it could possibly be online, it feels sure enough that he’s referring to JAY-Z here. It will be the sixth time the pair have collaborated, following ‘Off That’, ‘Light Up’, ‘Pound Cake’, ‘Pop Style’ and ‘Talk Up’. When he spoke to Rap Radar in December of 2019, Drake talked about getting another one in with Hov to solidify their ratio because instead of the club record they did on Scorpion, he knows people want to hear him and JAY just rap. So perhaps we know what kind of song it’ll be already.
