Welcome back to another edition of Saturday Spotlight. Each week we review submissions from all over the globe, picking the best out of the batch to highlight at the end of the week. If you’re an aspiring rapper, a producer wanting to create a buzz, or a singer looking to expose their talent, Saturday Spotlight is dedicated to discovering the next star. This week, we received over 50 unique submissions, below are the two picks!
Whether it’s your latest single or a new beat you made, all upcoming artists can submit music to us for Saturday Spotlight on this link.
Eighty8
Triumphant horns aren’t enough to cover the paranoia that engulfs Eighty8. On his latest single, “HIT,” the Miami-born rapper delivers his lyrics in cutthroat fashion. His vocals are dipped in a hint of auto-tune as he explosively snaps bars one after another. He’s versatile, he’s able to craft melodies and catchy hooks that ruminate in your brain. If this debut single tells you one thing, it’s that Eighty8 has limitless potential. Check the single from the new Cash Money Records signee below:
24Kayz
Rhythm comes in a package deal when you listen to 24kayz. In his single, “Out of Time,” the Port Royal artist brings Caribbean vibes to a song revolving around broken relationships. Masked underneath the positive atmosphere is a tale of a relationship that went south, and a reflection of its damage at the same time. Nonetheless, it’s a club banger meant to release yourself from the things that ache your heart. Check out the song below:
