The Weeknd’s much talked about HBO show The Idol has announced the date for the premiere: June 4.
The Idol debuts Sunday, June 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series will air on HBO and also be available to stream on Max. The series is co-created by Sam Levinson (HBO’s “Euphoria”), Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, and stars Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp. The series will premiere at this year’s Festival de Cannes. Abel recently criticized Rolling Stone magazine after it reported that the direction of his HBO show as “gone wildly, disgustingly off the rails.” Last week, he also revealed the news about The Idol Vol. 1 which looks like it will be a soundtrack to accompany the series.
