Eminem and Dr. Dre have teamed up yet again for a new signing under their iconic Shady / Aftermath partnership.
Ez Mil is an upcoming rapper from Las Vegas and going by Eminem’s tweet, it looks like his song ‘Up Down (Step & Walk)’ is what struck a chord. Em posted a photo of him with Dr. Dre and Ez on social media to announce the signing to Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment which is in partnership with Interscope Records. 50 Cent and Stat Quo remain two of the very few confirmed acts signed to both Shady and Aftermath while Slim The Mobster’s deal was also rumored to be with the two head honchos but not confirmed.

The rapper-singer will release DU4LI7Y: REDUX, a deluxe version of his 2022 album on August 11th which will feature the song ‘Realest’ with Eminem. In February, Ez Mil released the video for his DU4LI7Y single ‘Up Down’ on which fans noted the similarities in flows with the rap legend. About a month later, Eminem heard the song, and Ez Mil drove from Vegas to Los Angeles where he met Dre and Em for the first time.
“Weāve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective weāve been,ā commented Eminem. āAnd itās even rarer that Dre and I sign something together ā but I heard Ezās music and was like, āthis is really specialā so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.ā
Dr. Dre added, āIām really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feelingā¦that thing that happens when we both know weāve found something special. And that was itā¦.letās get to work.ā
