LL Cool J has managed to light up a national debate with his collaboration with Bad Paisley, ‘Accidental Racist‘. The controversial song, which appears on Paisley’s new album Wheelhouse, has been criticized for its lyrics about treatment of race relations but LL says he’s actually happy that the country is talking.
He says his intention wasn’t to offend anyone and that he “can’t fit 300 or 400 years of history into a 3-4 minute song” or suggest to anyone that we should forget that slavery once happened in our society. Watch him defend the song above.
