Kendrick Lamar Shakes Up The Super Bowl With Bold Drake Diss And Surprise Guests
Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl 59 halftime performance was nothing short of legendary, leaving fans buzzing with surprise cameos and bold moments that took his long-running feud with Drake to new heights. Kicking off with an unreleased song snippet and followed by “Squabble Up” from his latest album GNX, Kendrick immediately set the tone for a game-changing performance. Fans eagerly waited to see if Kendrick would play his diss track Not Like Us, especially with Drake's ongoing lawsuit against him and his label for defamation and harassment. Lamar's performance included an unexpected appearance by SZA and a quirky cameo from Serena Williams, along with Samuel L. Jackson’s comedic interruptions, all building the suspense around the Drake drama. In the middle of his performance, Kendrick turned up the heat, looking straight into the camera and directly addressing Drake with his famous lyrics, “I heard you like them young," as fans held their breath. Despite the tension, Kendrick censored himself when it came time to call Drake a "certified lover boy" and avoided saying “pedophile,” which had been widely speculated. Social media lit up with mixed reactions, with some fans mocking the performance as a "mid mashup" and others noting the intense hostility toward Drake. With the hashtag #KendrickBowl trending, it’s clear that Kendrick’s performance was a cultural moment that pushed boundaries—but has he gone too far, or is this just another chapter in hip-hop history? Only time will tell, and Drake has yet to respond.

Fetty Wap and 300 entertainment head Lyor Cohen have revealed to Associated Press that he will release his debut album on September 25. This is a great move as he has 2 songs in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 and another one, ‘679’ in the top 20 (#17). With his songs playing all over the country, who really needs an EP or a mixtape to delay the momentum?

Fetty says that his album, the name of which hasn’t been announced yet, has been done for almost 2 months and is currently being mixed and mastered. The Jersey rapper is currently on One Hell Of A Nite tour with Chris Brown which kicked off in Kansas City last night.

Says Fetty on his winning formula:

“I guess it’s just raw. Everybody sounds like everybody else.”

On Lyor’s support:

“He helped me a lot when I was going through stuff, when my grandfather died. He was calling and calling, making sure I was all right, asking me if I need anything.”

Says Lyor:

“It ain’t how like I be seeing it on TV where they arguing and stuff. We don’t even being going through that, for the most part we don’t even talk about music, he just be telling like ‘Watch myself,'” he continued. “(Lyor) talk to me like a mentor.”

“Our industry is lacking on a wholesale level of artist development … and we feel that (Wap is) just so brilliant and has developed this new style, new sound. He’s not doing the same regurgitated rap stuff. It’s not a redundant thing.

Sidebar: they heard me:

Fetty should drop the LP when the buzz is high (take Migos for example). Any EP or something might work opposite & ruin the momentum.

There should be no Fetty Wap EP or mixtape at this point, he has enough on sale already. Just drop that album, boom.
