The talk of Nicki Minaj getting her own show has been going around for more than a year now. But we finally have some concrete news today.
Deadline has confirmed that the rap superstar will be executive producing and starring in a scripted comedy series for ABC Family. It will be based on the rap star’s life growing up in Queens, New York and follow her journey of moving from Trinidad and Tobago and eventually becoming a huge name in the music world. The pilot episode will be shot this Winter in New York.
The series is from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and being written by Kate Angelo.
