Travis Scott released his much awaited sophomore album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight this Friday after several push backs but most of those now seem well planned. As you know, artists usually look for a week to release an album where there are minimal competitors.
HDD projects that the album, which is expected to be an Apple Music exclusive for two weeks, will move 90-105k copies in the first week (60-70k pure sales). This should easily secure him a number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart next week. It will be his first top charting album.
Travis is showing growth not just in popularity but in commercial performance too as in comparison, his debut album Rodeo sold 85k copies in its opening week, landing at #3 on Billboard 200.
LaFlame will be keeping himself busy as he will also be executive producing G.O.O.D. Music’s upcoming compilation album Cruel Winter, expected to release later this year.
UPDATE: The album has debuted at #1 on Billboard 200. The official Soundscan number is 88k out of which 53k were traditional album sales.
