Troy Ave has seen a lot in his career already. The Brooklyn rapper was shot in the leg during a shooting at T.I.’s concert in New York last year at Irving Plaza and after spending months in jail, he was shot again on Christmas in December.
The Irving Plaza left his bodyguard dead and him injured with a gunshot wound to the leg which is still troubling him. A surveillance video caught him firing a gun backstage in the green room but the rapper maintained that he did that in self defense and did not hurt anyone. Troy is currently out on a $500,000 bail but still faces charges of up to 20 years in prison.
Now in an interview with Fox5NY, Troy, whose real name is Roland Collins, has opened up about the shooting in detail for the first time. “I’ll just say that video doesn’t show everything that’s going on and I would love to talk to you more about it but I’m facing a serious case,” Collins said. “Like, my freedom is on the line. I could go to jail for 20 years.”
