Hackers Delete ‘Despacito’ YouTube Video; Change Titles of Drake, Adele Videos

Hackers Delete ‘Despacito’ YouTube Video; Change Titles of Drake, Adele Videos

YouTube has become the target of a group of hackers. Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi’s Spanish-language hit ‘Despacito’, which became the first ever YouTube video to reach five billion views just a few days ago, has been deleted from the service by the hackers.

If you had attempted to go to the video an hour ago, a still on the clip would have showed a scene from Netflix series La Casa de Papel in which masked figures can be seen aiming guns at the camera (see below). The video can not be found anywhere on YouTube now. Calling themselves Prosox and Kuroi’sh, the suspected hackers had written “Free Palestine” in the description of the video while it was available. When users try and play the video now, it simply says the video is unavailable.

This is not it. Titles of several videos from high profile artists such as Adele, Chris Brown, Shakira and Chris Brown were changed and mentioned “hacked by Prosox” as you can see from the screenshots below. But the person with ProsoxW3b handle went on Twitter and claimed that he did the title changes “just for fun” and was not behind the deletion of the ‘Despacito’ video.

@Vevo You have all my respect but do not leave the control to your site to any developer did not take into account this hacking it was a fun if we would like to harm your customers we would delete all the video but I did not delete despacito must believe me

@YouTube Its just for fun i just use script "youtube-change-title-video" and i write "hacked" don t judge me i love youtube <3

The titles of the videos mentioned above have been restored at the time of writing but the ‘Despacito’ music video continues to be removed from YouTube. They were uploaded to Luis Fonsi’s VEVO channel on YouTube. No one has taken direct responsibility for the same yet.
