Judge Concludes Tory Lanez Paid Blogger, Reinstates Megan Thee Stallion’s Defamation Lawsuit Victory

Federal judge Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga reversed her setting aside of Megan Thee Stallion‘s defamation victory against blogger Milagro Gramz on May 29, meaning that Megan will still be entitled to the amount that was earlier set aside.

The blogger had made statements about Megan, which were found defamatory by a jury. Previously, the judged had waived off the win on procedural grounds, which basically meant that Megan failed to notify Gramz before filing a defamation suit.

However, such provisions are made to protect journalists. In this case, it was found that the ‘journalist’ in question had in fact been paid by Tory Lanez and his father to slander Megan Thee Stallion’s reputation, thereby disqualifying Gramz from these provisions in place.

“Because the trial record shows that defendant was commissioned by the Petersons to publish or broadcast the three defamatory statements, the court finds as a matter of law that defendant was not entitled to pre-suit notice,” the judge noted.

“I’m truly grateful for the judge’s thoughtful and thorough consideration in reinstating the jury’s defamation verdict and holding the defendant fully accountable for all of her actions. I’m ready to finally close this chapter, and I hope this sends a powerful message that spreading lies and defamatory statements has clear consequences,” said Megan as reported by Rolling Stone in the aftermath of her win.

Gramz now owes the complete $75,000 that was previously awarded in favor of Megan Thee Stallion.
