Cardi B’s reign at the top is nowhere close to an end as today, she has become the first female rapper to earn two number 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Cardi’s single ‘I Like It’ featuring J. Balvin and Bad Bunny has moved from 2-1 to top the chart this week. It is also the first number 1 for the two Latin artists. The song, which samples ‘I Like It Like That’ originally performed by Pete Rodriguez in 1967, appeared on Cardi’s debut album Invasion of Privacy. The colorful music video was released in May and has already amassed close to 200 million views.
Cardi B is also the first artist to score a pair of Hot 100 No. 1s from a debut album since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Big congrats to her!
