Kanye West pulled a surprise move a few days ago when he announced a multi year deal with GAP, a brand that he always loved and shopped at, especially when he was in his late teens living in Chicago.
The Yeezy x Gap line will offer items such as hoodies, basics, T-shirts and joggers to customers, and is expected to appear in Gap stores and on Gap.com sometime in 2021, the two parties revealed. Right after the announcement, GAP’s stock soared a whopping 42%
Kanye worked as a teen at a Gap store in the Chicago area and even references it on his song ‘Spaceship‘ with the lines, “Let’s go back, back to the GAP, look at my check, wasn’t no scratch.” The rapper has now delivered a message in front of the store he used to shop at. Fans found the writing on Sunday morning which said, “Thank God. Hi Chicago it’s me. This is the GAP store I used to shop at when I would drive my Nissan from the Southside. So Blessed.”

Kanye also hit the studio over the weekend with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to finish work on his new album Jesus is King 2.
