Jim Jones sat down with Mikey Fresh from Vibe and spoke on the Dipset / G.O.O.D. Music collaboration on ‘Christmas In Harlem‘, the upcoming Dipset reunion album and the past ‘beef’. Full interview here.
How did your collabo with Kanye, “Christmas In Harlem” materialize?
You know, Kanye reached out to Cam and just asked if we would like to be a part of the song. Why not? Why not, be a part of history. We just doing music, nobody needs to get their panties in a bunch. Ya heard?
I think people were just surprised because of the “Runaway” freestyle where Cam had some words for Ye. Was that song just a joke or something?
I don’t think anyone at Dipset jokes so much. But everything happens for a reason. God bless us for being grown enough and gentleman enough to let certain things go past.
How is the Dipset album coming?
It’s going down, believe that. We’re still recording songs but you don’t have to worry, the Dipset album is happening big time. You can bet your last dollar.
Is it officially coming out on Interscope?
I wouldn’t say officially, officially is a big word—shouts to Interscope, Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and everybody on that side. Just sit tight.
Can you let us in on any songs that you guy have recorded? I mean we all saw the pics with Dre.
We got a joint called “Anticipation” that yall should love. The vibe is good just being back with my band of brothers. I also got my album, Capo, coming out on Feb. 22nd. I’m going in for the kill next year [laughs].
