The leak proof album from Jay-Z and Kanye West has broken the iTunes sales record for the most number of digital copies sold in a single week. The feat of 290k downloads was achieved in only 4 days (till Sunday night), beating Coldplay’s earlier record from their 2008 album Viva La Vida, which moved 282k in its first week, and a total of 288k from all digital retailers.

HDD also reports that the overall sales projections have now fallen to around 425k following a dip in the sale of physical copies over the weekend. The earlier figure being projected was around 500-550k.
