September is a pretty big month for Hip-Hop and R&B releases. The 10th marked the release of 2 Chainz’ sophomore album B.O.A.T.S. #MEtime, The Weeknd’s official studio debut Kiss Land and Sean Kingston’s third album Back 2 Life.
Tity Boi’s new album personally didn’t impress me much and according to estimates from HDD, he will sell around 55-65k in the first week at retail which is certainly a very low number, considering his first album’s sales and the way Def Jam prioritizes him.
The Weeknd’s Kiss Land failed to deliver on the singles front so I wasn’t expecting big numbers from the Toronto singer but surprisingly, his projections stand at a respectable 90-100k.
Here’s the roundup:
Keith Urban Fuse 100-110k
The Weeknd Kiss Land 90-100k
2 Chainz B.O.A.T.S. #MEtime 55-65k
Janelle Monae The Electric Lady 45-50k
