[Saturday Spotlight] Russ + Chanel Nicole

Yes yes, it’s that time of the week again. Just like all preceding weeks, we received another set of great submissions this time for the Saturday Spotlight spot ranging from instrumentals from producers and ballads from singers to trap songs from rappers. After listening to each one of them, we have picked a rapper/producer named Russ and singer/songwriter Chanel Nicole. Check them out!

Russ

Russ is a 20 year old rapper and producer who is part of the DIEMON crew, a collective of like minded visual and music artists. This particular song & video ‘Corleone’ was part of his submission email to us which said nothing more than “I’m Russ. I’m 20. I make music. Just listen“. We decided to follow his words and were definitely impressed by the material. The song is off his free album Straight From Limbo which you can download here.

Chanel Nicole

Name sounds familiar? The looker was featured on Busta Rhymes’ ‘Doin It Again‘ song and video which appeared on his album Year Of The Dragon released in August this year. The singer and songwriter who is of Black and Puerto Rican descent has released her new single ‘Good Lovin’, a feel good mid tempo R&B record. You can listen or download below.
