A Thing Called Love is a song that tells a story about young love at its beginning stage. The beauty, mental vividness, and euphoria that comes with meeting a new love are intoxicating from the moment of its inception. And the reason for the intensity and magic of this stage is simple, Cupid. Cupid is not the cute, bow and arrow yielding, cartoon character we have all been taught to believe he is. Cupid is simply a Spirit or Angel of love and togetherness, and existing as a higher being, his form is shapeless which allows him to manifest into whatever physical form he desires. Since the beginning of Human kind, he has been receiving his daily assignments at sunrise. A Higher Power transmits information about the souls he will make fall in love that day. His duty is to assure the assigned couple falls in love deeply; and although his tactics are unorthodox his results are exceptional. He lives for the chase, the excitement and thrilling nature of the conquest fuels his desire to make human beings fall in love; so much so that part of his strategy is to momentarily posses or take over the assigned male’s body to ensure he says and does the right thing to win over the female. Human love is a delicate process and a single misstep, unneeded remark, or unwarranted advance could ruin Cupid’s mission; so that’s why he steps in, leaving nothing to chance or human error, because Cupid always knows what to say and do, to make anyone fall in love.
