UPDATE (Dec. 22): G-Eazy’s The Beautiful & Damned moved 122k in the first week (70k pure sales) while Jeezy’s Pressure comes in with 70k (51k pure sales).
Previous story (Dec. 16):
Eminem’s new album Revival will safely take the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week with sales of nearly 300k but G-Eazy isn’t doing bad by any standards.
December 15th was a very heavy release day for Hip-Hop and G-Eazy’s new album The Beautiful & Damned is leading the pack following Eminem with projections of 135-155k. Once again, the Bay Area rapper’s fans are showing true support as nearly 85-95k out of that are expected to come in through pure sales. The Beautiful & Damned is led by the massive hit ‘No Limit’ featuring ASAP Rocky and Cardi B.
Jeezy’s eighth studio album Pressure featuring guests appearances from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, Puff Daddy, YG and Kodak Black is on course to move 55-65k in the opening 7 days (35-40k pure sales). The Atlanta rapper’s last LP Trap or Die 3 released in 2016 had sold 89k in the first week, debuting at number 1 on the charts.
Pharell-led group N.E.R.D.’s latest, star studded LP No One Really Dies is looking at a disappointing 16-21k (9-12k pure sales) and will struggle to hit the top 10 of Billboard 200. The band’s last album Nothing released in 2010 didn’t perform too well commercially either, selling 20k in the first week.
