Lil Wayne recently settled his lawsuits with Cash Money Records for a reported $10 million. In a released statement, the rapper’s lawyer said that the matter had been “amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.”
With the settlement of the matter, Lil Wayne is now directly signed with Universal Music and the path to the release of his long awaited album Tha Carter V has become clearer. We haven’t heard much from Weezy directly about it yet — until now. Last night, the Young Money rapper performed at the popular Story nightclub in Miami and just before exiting the stage, he had some good news to convey to the fans.
“Just to let y’all know I had a meeting today, it wasn’t a long meeting, just so y’all know the meeting was about the release date of Tha Carter f*cking V,” Weezy announced loud and clear to the party goers. Watch the footage below. The album has been in the making for about four years now. He has not released an official studio album since 2013’s I Am Not a Human Being II. Will we finally get C5 before the end of 2018? Let’s hope so.
