When Nicki Minaj released her new album Queen, the track that had the internet buzzing was ‘Barbie Dreams’.
On the song, Nicki jokes about sleeping and messing around with several men in the industry including 50 Cent, Meek Mill and Drake. ‘Barbie Dreams’ is Nicki Minaj’s interpolation of The Notorious B.I.G.’s ‘Dreams (Just Playing)’ and it’s done in a way that most people have appreciated.
"Drake worth a hundred milli, always buying me shit, but I don't know if the p*ssy wet or if he cryin & shit
Meek still be in my DMs, I be having to duck him
I used to pray for times like this
Face ass when I f*ck him"Okay Nicki đł

Since some listeners were calling it a “diss” towards all the people mentioned on the song, Nicki had to clarify that the names are actually the ones she likes in real life. “You guys know âBarbie Dreamsâ is not a diss, right?,â she said on Queen radio on Beats 1. âItâs just some funny shit. I love them. I said things about people who I know can take a joke and wonât be emotional about it. Reading the reactions to âBarbie Dreamsâ is f*cking hilarious. Everyone is saying how disrespectful âBarbie Dreamsâ is, and thatâs why I f*cking love it.â She also explained the concept on her Twitter.
I only mentioned people in #BarbieDreams that I fuk wit. This isnât a diss. Yikes. This is culture, this is BIGGIE!!!!! New York!!!! This is FUN. Light hearted fun FUN

The reaction to the track has perhaps encouraged Nicki and her labels to pick it as the next official single from Queen. The song will impact radio stations later this week, HHNM can reveal and hopefully there will be a music video as well in the near future. Do you think it’s a good choice?
Nicki also joked about the song on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Watch it below. Earlier today (Monday), she released the music video for the album opener, ‘Ganja Burns’.
