Mac Miller’s passing has surely shocked not just the Hip-Hop community but the entire music industry.
Ariana Grande was in a relationship with the rapper until a few months ago, and it had reportedly ended after it started to turn “toxic” with Mac’s addiction problems as one of the reasons. She was flying when she got the news last Friday that her ex had died at the age of 26 from a suspected drug overdose. The singer had then only posted a photo of the emcee on her Instagram without any caption but today, she is paying a proper tribute to the kind soul.
Ariana has shared a personal video of Mac taken when they were still together. He addresses her as “baby” and shies away from the camera while she tries to capture the momen. In the caption, the singer says she’s sorry that she could not be of better help to him in fighting his demons. “i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times,” she writes. “i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest,” she concludes.
