Ever since his disputes with Cash Money were settled back in June, Wayne fans have been waiting eagerly for Tha Carter V which has now been in the works, supposedly locked and loaded, for more than four years now.
We’ve had teasers in the last few months like Wayne saying he had a meeting about the album’s release date and the official Young Money Twitter account teasing the artwork just this week. But on Wednesday, Wayne made everything official by telling the world that the album will release on his birthday (Sept. 27) but without revealing the tracklist and other details.
Tha Carter V marks Weezy’s first studio album since 2013’s I Am Not a Human Being II and of course comes after years of friction with Birdman and his label Cash Money which included insults at each other. Stream Tha Carter V below, featuring guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, XXXTentacion, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Ashanti and even Drake for a few seconds on track #14, ‘Hittas’.
