It’s been more than 8 years since Jay Electronica signed to Roc Nation at a public event attended by Jay-Z but there hasn’t been any album released from the elusive rapper.
Every now and then, he pops up on the internet with a little tease of music and then disappears again for several months. In August, he previewed some new music with Swizz Beatz and hinted that fans will finally get to hear his debut album soon but of course, it was false alarm yet again.
While we wait for that holy day to arrive, some unreleased music from the rapper has been discovered. Detroit based producer an engineer Angelo “Cello” Martin, who worked closely with the rapper in early 2000s, uploaded snippets of several unreleased Jay Electronica songs on his Instagram back in August but due to his not so big following, it went under the radar a bit.
A couple of the previews he shared are of songs which have already been out, like ‘I Feel Good‘ and the J. Dilla produced ‘So What Yo Sayin‘ but the rest, recorded around 2003-04 have never been heard before. One of them is co-produced and features chorus by Mr. Porter. Get a taste below.
