Doja Cat is involved in a controversy right now on social media but her music continues to do its thing.
Doja’s big hit ‘Say So’ is still in top 5 of Billboard 200 after topping the chart two weeks ago. She has now performed the song exclusively for BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend from her home. This performance follows the cancellation of the UK concert a few weeks ago. To make up for the called off event, BBC asked a few performers on their original lineup to record a set from their homes. Watch Doja’s colorful performance below.
Two days ago, Doja was accused of making racist comments on social media in the past. This came to light after some users shared a photo and a couple of videos showing the singer-rapper dropping questionable comments during conversations on TinyChat with white folks who were known to be openly racist on the video chat platform. #dojacatisoverparty started to tend on social media shortly after, although many were confused about the exact reason for the controversy.

Doja Cat has not yet confirmed or denied the allegations, and has been totally absent from social media since the uproar. This past Friday, she appeared on the remix of The Weeknd’s ‘In Your Eyes’.
