Summer Walker Announces New EP

Summer Walker has announced that she is working on a new EP set to be released soon.

Back in February, she had social media talking after she hinted at retirement from music. “Lol I’m deada*s never making another song after 2020,” the singer announced via her Instagram story. Before that, she has mentioned a few times how she isn’t at her best mentally. She suffers from social anxiety and has had challenging times managing the condition while working in the music industry.

Previously in November last year too, she had said something similar in her now deleted Instagram post. “na fr though I’ve decided y’all don’t deserve me lol I knew from day one I was to real for this shit. y’all can have the music & ima just head out,” Walker wrote. “f*ck the interviews, photo shoots, videos, & really the shows too. I’ll finish this tour out tho. I’m just a regular person, nothing more. lol people got this fame shit f*cked up. I been me from day one, I’m not bout to start acting different, talking different, treating people different, or looking different. people really expect too much from you.”

But it looks like at for now, she’s back in the studio making new music again. Summer uploaded a bunch of photos on her Instagram where she’s looking quite different than usual, with the caption “EP coming soon babies.” She hasn’t revealed a release date for the project yet.

Walker released her debut studio album, Over It in October last year which earned the best sales week for a female R&B album since Beyoncé’s Lemonade. Earlier this month, she appeared on the remix of Khalid’s song ‘Eleven’.
