Jay Electronica Finally Releases ‘Act II: The Patents Of Nobility (The Turn)’ On Streaming

Of course, the talk for years and years about Jay Electronica was whether or not he’d release an album and in March of 2020, right at the start of the pandemic in the west, he dropped what was essentially a JAY Z collaboration album called A Written Testimony. In October of the same year though, what was actually intended to be his debut album, Act II: The Patents Of Nobility (The Turn) was leaked.

It was a rough version of the album, with Jay mumbling for a few bars at a time in certain songs and other songs ending with 60 seconds of instrumentals. But that didn’t stop it getting a warm reception, with many agreeing it was actually better than the official album we got 7 months prior. In some tweets, Jay admitted that he tried to block the album from coming out, but admitted he was taken aback by the fan response. It was briefly on streaming before it was taken down and Jay promised to get a final version of it up.

Now, five years later, Act II has found its way onto DSPs. It’s worth noting that it’s the same version of the album, with all of the mumbling and long instrumentals, but it does sound like it’s mixed better. You might know that Act I hit streaming earlier in the week, so maybe there’s a chance we get Act III tonight?

Stream it below.
