We’ve known that Baby Keem‘s eccentric sound has influences from cousin Kendrick Lamar, but now, Baby Keem has also opened up about other creative inspirations that aided his process when making Ca$ino.
Once he mentions it, it almost seems obvious. In a new interview with Nardwuar, Keem revealed that some of his strongest influences, in fact, came from rappers like Common and Eminem. On his own album, Keem has a distinct sound, voice and narrative, but with the new information, the dots are easier to connect.
After all, the two are some of the most talented and soulful storytellers in hip hop. Speaking more specifically about the influences, Keem explained that “The Be album is amazing, I did a lot of studying for ‘Ca$ino’…(Eminem is) one of my favorite artists ever… I was heavily inspired during the whole process of ‘Ca$ino.”
