S1 aka Symbolyc One has worked with Kanye West on a few occasions in the past and is of course also signed to his production label, Very G.O.O.D. Beats (read more about it here). He has worked his magic again on one of the better tracks on Yeezus — the Kid Cudi-featured ‘Guilt Trip’. Talking to Vibe, S1 reveals that the beat was originally created in London during the Watch The Throne sessions but didn’t make the cut as it didn’t fit the vibe of that project.
āThe āGuilt Tripā beat was actually made in London when I was in the studio with Kanye and Jay for the Watch The Throne album. He always loved it but it didnāt fit the vibe of Watch The Throne so he held it for this album. Iām always expecting something against whatās popular because thatās just him as an artist and a creator,ā said the Texas-born producer. āI didnāt know exactly which direction [Yeezus] was going to go but I knew it would be something kinda away from the norm of what everybody else would be doing.ā
