Birdman Responds to Rick Ross’ Shots on ‘Idols Become Rivals’

Rick Ross Releasing ‘Idols Become Rivals’ Song Aimed At Birdman?

Internet has been buzzing ever since Rick Ross’ song ‘Idols Become Rivals‘ surfaced online. On the song, which appears on Rozay’s latest album Rather You Than Me, the rapper takes shots at Birdman over their sour relationship. All verses are aimed at the Cash Money head honcho and he goes to the extent of accusing Birdman of not paying proper publishing to artists and producers signed to Cash Money Records. He even mentions how Birdman broke Khaled’s heart despite Khaled always remaining loyal to him.

Even Lil Wayne gets a mention on the song, “I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne/ His entire life, he gave you what there was to gain / I watched this whole debacle, so I’m part to blame/ Last request, can all producers please get paid?” As we know, Cash Money Records have been either sued by or openly criticized by several artists for lack of payments in the past few years, including David Banner, Jay Sean, Bangladesh, Juvenile and even Drake’s first label Aspire Music Group.

Billboard was able to get a reaction from Baby on Ross’ latest shots. He didn’t directly diss Ross back but denounced the allegations: “I don’t get caught up in hoe sh-t, man. I just keep doing what I’m doing and keep pushing,” Birdman told Billboard. “I don’t get caught up in that, I don’t play like that. I’m a man and I stand my ground and I do my thing. Numbers don’t lie, and that’s all I give a f–k about: numbers, and puttin’ them up.”

Hopefully Birdman will soon return to The Breakfast Club and we’ll have a “all tree of y’all” moment again.
