Kendrick Lamar was the headliner for weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last night and he did not disappoint one bit.
The rap star, who released his latest album DAMN. on April 14, opened his hot set with the album standout ‘DNA’ following the Fox News segment which is sprinkled around everywhere on the album. Kung Fu Kenny even had a live ninja on stage with him. K.Dot continued performing songs from the album for the first time, as he ran through ‘LUST.’, ‘XXX.’ and ‘GOD.’ After hanging mid air for ‘PRIDE,’ he went on to do the hit single ‘HUMBLE.’ and then returned with the catchy Zacari-featured ‘LOVE.’
It wasn’t all DAMN. though. Kendrick also performed ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’, ‘Backstreet Freestyle’ and ‘m.A.A.d city’ off his good kid, m.A.A.d city album as well as ‘King Kunta’ off To Pimp A Butterfly. He decided to mix it up a little bit by bringing out his famous guests ScHoolboy Q, Future and Travis Scott to surprise the audience. Kung Fu Kenny is clearly a fan of the Kung Fu culture as inspired visuals based on his later ego played on the big screens throughout his performance. You can watch some highlights from his set below.
